Roots In Rust














TRUNK is proud to present:
ROOTS IN RUST by Hungarian born horticultural artist Zsuzsanna Barbu.

Being surrounded with creativity thru her fashion designer mother, gave Zsuzsanna a desire to give life to items of seemingly no use.  Her inspiration came from the discovery of air plants, prompting her to start Roots in Rust and walk away from her corporate job.  She resides in Clinton Hill with her husband and puppy, Pepper.

At Roots in Rust, Zsuzsanna uses unexpected, re-purposed objects combined with tenacious air plants to create living décor to add “life with character” to homes, offices, cafes, stores and special events.  Zsuszanna uses aged metal, salvaged wood, antique windows and vintage glass pieces to create her air plant living art.

Air plants are an amazingly versatile plant family that absorbs nutrients through their leaves rather then their roots-making them very easy to grow!  They only need to be watered once a week and are very hard to overwater.
