September Exhibit: Elements of Style
Featuring artist Francois Ilseher
As you look at the collages and photographs of Francois Ilnseher, Swiss born and New York based artist and fashion industry veteran the word that comes to mind is "decollage". The pieces that Francois has created for the "Elements of Style" Exhibit are his reflections of his many years of intimate involvement with the fashion world. They offer a glimpse into the at once glamorous and frustrating world where the image rules and the creator of the image is frequently a figure in the shadow. He has worked with such magazines as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle and Glamour and has worked with many noted photographers.

Trunk designers exploring their individual "elements"
Trunk designers are reinterpreting William Strunk Jr's 1918 "The Elements of Style", a compositional guide for writers, to apply to fashion and design. The five designers will be exploring individual elements including: history, consciousness, nature, shape and texture. Through a 'composition' using either fashion, accessories or furniture design each creator will exhibit an 'element' that she feels is intrinsic to her view of what 'Style' is.

Fashion's Night Out | September 10

Trunk is joining the city wide kick off of fashion week.

Vagabond Gallery out of Basil Switzerland is throwing the party to honor Francois's work during fashion week.

Dumbo Arts Festival | September 24-26
Come view "Elements of Style" as well as many open studios, street performers, poets and more! Every year Dumbo Arts Festival Curates a Dumbo-wide show featuring some of the most talented artists in New York.
